Draining a diversion valve may seem simple, but improper execution can compromise equipment performance. The following outlines the general drainage procedure:
Shut Down System: Ensure the equipment has completely ceased operation.
Locate Drain Port: Typically situated at the bottom or side of the valve body.
Prepare Receptacle: Position a drip tray or hose to channel the water flow.
Open Slowly: Rotate the drain screw counter-clockwise by 1/4 turn.
Monitor Drainage: Close the valve immediately once the water runs clear.
Note: The valve body may be hot during drainage; wearing protective gloves is recommended.
